Yesterday, on June 14th, I had the opportunity to attend this year’s annual Beat The Odds Summit with the Herb It Forward Foundation.
This year’s event was a full‐day summit for 40 rising college freshman at Twitter HQ in Washington, DC. It was an informative experience, one that was filled with panel discussions surrounding topics such as career building skills, navigating college, and more.
Naturally, the highlight of the day was the second panel of the day, one that featured Former First Lady Michelle Obama. Surprisingly, I was selected to kick the discussion off by asking Mrs. Obama about her experience as a first generation college student, and what advice she would have for all of us incoming freshman on the college experience.
You can watch a video of the panel discussion by clicking here, with my shining almost minute of fame being from the 5:00 mark to 5:50.
