Yesterday, on June 14th, I had the opportunity to attend this year’s annual Beat The Odds Summit with the Herb It Forward Foundation.
This year’s event was a full‐day summit for 40 rising college freshmen at Twitter HQ in Washington, DC. It was an informative experience, one that was filled with panel discussions surrounding topics such as career-building skills, navigating college, and more.
Naturally, the highlight of the day was the second panel of the day, one that featured Former First Lady Michelle Obama. Surprisingly, I was selected to kick the discussion off by asking Mrs. Obama about her experience as a first-generation college student, and what advice she would have for all of us incoming freshmen on the college experience.
You can watch a video of the panel discussion by clicking here, with my shining almost minute of fame being from the 5:00 mark to 5:50.
